International comparison of how the internet is used by children and their families across Europe

European project publishes its second report.

EU Kids Online 11 is a survey conducted across 25 European countries to gather evidence about the use of the internet and online technologies by children and their families. This second survey was conducted in June 2010 and published in March 2011. The project is funded by the EC’s Safer Internet Programme. The UK part of the survey was conducted face to face with 1032 9-16 year olds. The findings in full can be read here.

The survey is summarised in ways which attempt to place the data in context of the other experiences of children, such as the fact that 21% of UK children reported having been bullied but only 8% of this was online

A review of available evidence regarding the online risks and safety, commissioned by the Uk government was published by the NFER and can be read here.
