Personalisation by Pieces case-study schools

We are planning a series of case-studies for Personalisation by Pieces and are looking for schools who may be interested in taking part. We would welcome interest from Primary, Secondary and FE providers and from small-scale to school-wide projects.
The Marches School's idea to use PbyP as a homework replacement has caught the imagination of many schools as has the idea by St Gilda's to formalise student mentors and the skills based enrichment afternoon designed by the Five Islands School. Behind every good idea lies a whole host of questions and solutions which is why case studies are so valuable.
We are looking for schools to become the focus of case-studies for Personalisation by Pieces and we are hoping you might be interested ………
What happens if I say yes ?
- Contact Anna at and say you would like to be involved.
- Anna will arrange to talk through your planned or existing use of PbyP at a time convenient to you, either by email, phone or both – whichever suits you.
Following on from this first contact, Anna will write a brief case study and send a copy to you for approval. You can then....
- EITHER, agree for us to use the case study in one of these newsletters
- OR, edit/ add to the case study yourselves and then send it back to us to include in the newsletter
Recognition for your case study
We are very keen for schools, staff and students to gain recognition for projects they have done using PbyP and so beyond writing up your ideas in the newsletter we have a number of ways in which we aim to support you further if you would find this useful after we have agreed the first outline case study, including the following;
- One of ten free places at our upcoming conference on personalisation
- Opportunities to present what your school has achieved. We have already provided six opportunities for teachers to talk at national conferences.
- Follow up case studies. With the school's permission we have directed reporters and government organisations to schools involved with PbyP.
- Linking up. We have brought together schools interested in similar projects so they can share their expertise and collaborate.
What kind of case studies are you interested in?
Ideally we would like to know how every school has approached PbyP, even if you have followed a model that has already been tried out by other schools there will still be lots that others can learn from your experiences. We are also keen to know where PbyP has NOT worked.
By linking up ideas and working together we are all likely to make more progress in less time. In this context, every contribution is equally valuable so we hope you take this opportunity to get involved.
