Trial Schools Launch the Web Tool

On 14th February the Five Islands School on the Isles of Scilly became the first to launch the PbyP web tool. This was followed two weeks later by Kingsbridge College in Devon.
In the Five Islands School, within fifteen minutes of the usernames and passwords being given out, students had already submitted work and set up their friends as mentors. Work continued to come in through the day as more students were started.
As an all-through school both primary and secondary students started on the same day. One year six exclaimed ‘what’s my brother doing in here?’ when he received a request from the secondary school from his brother who wanted him to be one of his mentors.
Kingsbridge College were the first to test our automated creation of user accounts. Remarkably this only generated one fault which we were able to fix quickly and three pieces of work were submitted by students. A week later the school launched their second group of students without any support bringing the number up to sixty students in the school.
Stratton upper School in Biggleswade is next with their 37 students from the Gifted and Talented Programme.
